Green & White was started by Osama A. with the vision of becoming the one-stop place for industry news, analysis and insight. Today we are moving fast towards achieving that goal.

In his post Obscure Interactive – Experience design services in Lahore Osama A. has pointed out some very interesting issues with how we are projecting ourselves and I really appreciate what all he has included in his review. The fact is that he is correct about what he says. Some of the things he has pointed out, in my humble opinion, are actually bloopers from our end! For instance, he talks about the number of clicks increment due to the accordian and the fact that some content is hidden, I totally agree with him. The thing is that when we did our website our code gurus were just getting the hang of JavaScript for UI and its capabilities. They were already brilliant with server side coding, application development and even JavaScript but for UI, it’s a totally different ball game. While I wanted the Interaction in a particular way, the boys couldn’t deliver at that time. At Obscure Interactive we have a culture of reading, practicing and learning as we go along, and by now I am confident that once we do roll out our all new website in January 2009, we’ll have our hands so deep down into JavaScript that it will show!

Over the last few months, since the current website has been up, we have been analyzing our website usage statistics and patterns. Some interesting discoveries have contributed immensely in the Interaction Design of the website. I have been working very closely with our Marketing Consultant over the past few weeks regarding the Obscure brand! We uncovered loads of things about Obscure during our sessions that even I myself was unaware of till recently. I’ve been busy putting everything together from user feedback, usage patterns to user behavior along with branding ideas to hatch the new website.

So all in all, the bottom line here is that come January, people should be able to see the real face of Obscure, which tells a totally different story from the current website.

This event is part of a globally-coordinated effort that is being simultaneously held in over 175 cities around the world. This is the first time the event is being held in Pakistan.

Usability is about making people’s lives better by ensuring services and products important to life are well-designed and easy-to-use. This year, the focus of this global event is on transportation. There will be a day-long featuring talks, case studies, and a documentary screening.
